Brandt is a Brooklyn-based actor, playwright, and teaching artist.
He is a company member with The Nerve Tank, for whom he most recently performed the role of Woyzeck in Project Woyzeck at University Settlement, Sea Dog Theater, with whom he recently collaborated as a writer on their devised site-specific piece, Not From Here at The Ace Hotel, and he performs weekly with the The Funny School of Good Acting's Commedia Company. He is currently Managing Director of A Laboratory for Actor Training Experimental Theater Company and a founding member of The Snake In The Boot Collective. He has also enjoyed long collaborations with Sister Sylvester, Epic Theatre Ensemble, and the choreographer Catherine Galasso, among others.
His play, Dispatches from (A)mended America, co-written with Godfrey L. Simmons, Jr., was produced Off-Broadway in 2012 by Epic Theatre Ensemble at the Theater at the 14th Street Y and was published by NoPassport Press in 2018 as part of its Epic Plays anthology.
As a teaching artist, he has been a visiting artist at Cornell University and has facilitated middle and high school students throughout New York City creating and performing plays addressing ethical and social issues.
